Datacenter InfrastructureData102 offers the best colocation in Colorado Springs, especially when
it comes to the facility itself. We pride ourselves on three key areas
of our datacenter: the superb power system, our
HVAC/environmental system, and our strong security.
Power Information Data102 is strategically located in the Alamo Corporate Centers, one of
the few buildings that are located on what is known to Colorado Springs
Utilities as the Downtown Network Loop. This loop consists of two fully
separated power rings that circle and power the downtown area, which
are powered by the Cimarron and North Nevada substations. The Alamo
building sits on top of both of these loops, providing for clean, redundant
power. Data102 receives its power feeds from the underground vault, which connects directly into our Automatic Transfer Switch. Also attached to the ATS is our 500KvA Onan diesel generator. From the ATS, feeds are ran to each of our 102 S. Tejon datacenters. In each datacenter, power is terminated into our facility wide UPS systems. These UPS' provide clean, safe, generator-backed power to every single power socket in the facility.
HVAC & Environment The Alamo Corporate Center itself has three, ten-ton air conditioners
on the roof that provide air conditioning to the entire building. In
addition to the building conditioners, Data102 maintains 30 tons of redundant air conditioning inside the #1250 datacenter to ensure proper air flow, temperature
and humidity. Data102's #220 datacenter employs 60 tons of redundant air conditioners to power the larger datacenter. Both of our datacenters are stationed on a raised floor, which uses the
industry-standard stanchion + tile configuration. The space
beneath the tiles is pressurized by the air conditioners,
creating a forced-air system that is ventilated via perforated &
vented tiles that are purposefully placed around NOC hotspots. Multiple
temperature, humidity & wet sensors placed around the facility notify
Data102 staff when the facilities are not operating to spec, ensuring prompt response. Data102 strives to maintain a standard operating
environment consisting of 66*F and 33% humidity.
Security Considerations In addition to being in one of the nicest buildings in the Springs,
Data102 provides for a very secure environment for your needs. The
Alamo Corporate Center itself is available from 6am until 6pm, Monday
through Friday. Access to the building for all other times is permitted
only via a keycard that is registered with building management.
Additionally, onsite security patrols the grounds routinely during off
hours.
Over and above building security, Data102 has its own physical
safeguards. The #1250 main lobby entry is accessible only via closely-kept
keys, with interior offices having differently keyed locks. #1250's entrance is magnetically sealed and entry is allowed only via
keycard. The #220 datacenter features a secured, video-taped man-trap for both ingress & egress, again accessible only via keycard. All keycards are registered with both Data102 and the building,
and a log is generated and stored offsite of all entries and exits from
the premises.
When Data102 personnel are not at the facility, security standards are
still met by heat and motion detecting cameras that, depending upon the
situation, take photos and record video and audio of the facility. These are then
uploaded to multiple offsite, read-only access servers while
simultaneously sending email & pager notification of facilities
access to Data102 personnel.Features & Amenities In addition to being a premier
colocation facility, Data102 also offers convenient access to office
space and meeting rooms for when our customers introduce their
customers to our datacenters. Included in these spaces are free wifi & internet access, locking doors, window views, whiteboards and more.
Also onsite is a full kitchenette with available coffee maker, fridge,
sink and dishware.
